For more than fifteen years, Azimuth Aerospace has worked at the intersection of aviation and education: training the technicians who keep aircraft electronics airworthy, and engineering the lab trainers they learn on. What began in 2008 as one instructor's passion for avionics has grown into an AEA training partner and a manufacturer whose CES trainers are used in classrooms and repair stations around the world.
A / The Curriculum
A complete arc from wiring fundamentals to ADS-B troubleshooting, developed and delivered in partnership with the AEA, and taught by working professionals. Each course pairs in-depth theory with hands-on lab time on real avionics hardware.

The Basic Wiring & Avionics Installation course is designed for certificated repairmen, new avionics technicians, aviation maintenance technicians and recent graduates interested in improving or acquiring the skills necessary to perform avionics installations. This three-day seminar employs in-depth theory and hands-on lab exercises to immerse the attendee in the best practices used to plan, manage, and install a general aviation avionics panel. Installation lab includes: Avidyne IFD540 FMS/GPS Navigator, Garmin G5 Electronic Flight Instrument & GAD 29 ARINC 429 data bus module, PS Engineering PMA8000BT Audio Panel and Trans-Cal SSD120-35C-RS-232 Altitude Encoder.

The Basic Pitot-Static & Transponder course is designed for entry-level avionics technicians or those looking for basic training on pitot-static & aircraft transponder systems. This two-day course covers the history and theory of operation of pitot-static instruments and transponders, as well as system set-up, hands-on testing, and the troubleshooting skills necessary to perform FAR 91.411 and 91.413 checks.

This course is designed for currently employed repair station personnel and installers of ADS-B systems. Approximately 4.8% of all general aviation ADS-B installations are non-compliant based on the FAA's ADS-B Performance Monitoring System. This course focuses on the proper configuration and testing of ADS-B installations to ensure your installation meets the performance requirements and regulations. Also included are troubleshooting tips and tricks that will help you resolve the common problems found in ADS-B installations.

Azimuth Aerospace, LLC was founded in 2008 by owner William Tramper out of his passion for aviation and education. More than fifteen years later, those two passions still define everything we do.
Azimuth's first major effort was to aid in the development of a high-school avionics program in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The career technical center program launched in 2009 and has seen significant growth over the last fifteen years. A second endeavor followed: developing computer-based training for companies seeking to reach a wider audience with technical information about their products.
In 2016, Azimuth acquired CES Industries and the rights to its vast line of training products. Manufacturing and repair were established in Michigan, where Azimuth not only restarted production of several popular CES trainers but designed new ones: the KV920 Aircraft Lighting Systems, the AT429 Digital Databus, and the CES 147 Aircraft Electronics Lab trainers.
In 2022, manufacturing moved to an aircraft hangar in Sparta, Michigan, then quickly expanded as demand grew. In 2023, Azimuth formed a dedicated division and named it CES Trainers. Today, that division continues to manufacture and engineer new trainers through active R&D, while Azimuth focuses on its training partnership with the AEA, developing and facilitating courses for the next generation of aircraft-electronics technicians.
